Creating a physical environment that engages all students.

On my classroom walls I have various bits of important information that teach and reteach. Students have available to them things such as word boards, diagrams, think maps and tables.

Establishing a climate that promotes fairness and respect.

Fair does not mean equal.  Fairness is giving a student what they need. As I provide for the individual needs of students I will be treating them with fairness and respect.

Promoting social development and group responsibility

Students are required to work together in groups for centers and on specific projects. Table points are given out to groups to encourage good listening, following directions and staying on task.

Establishing and maintaining standards for student behavior

In kindergarten the rules are very simple.  Listen to the teacher, follow directions and don't talk while someone is talking.  Other rules that are established from the very beginning is hands to yourself and take responsibility for yourself.

Planning/implementing classroom procedures and  routines.

Students will transition during a music clip, line up with hands flipped and mouths zipped.  Line up with voices off, waiting for instruction.  The bell is a freeze signal.

Using instructional time effectively

Students are rewarded by free learning activities when they have used their time wisely.
